Loose steering wheel grip
After getting the report from the roadworthy inspection, predictably there were some faults. Not sure if this is common or not, but my steering wheel grip is loose.
My mate said the best thing to do is to inject glue into the loose bits and then it will dry hard. Sounds simple enough. I suppose the only other option is to get a new wheel which I don't want to do as it will cost more money and I will be going aftermarket wheel later on anyway. What do you reckon is the best thing to do? Also does anyone know where I can get some new(used good condition) s13 pedal rubbers. |

RE: Loose steering wheel grip
pedal rubbers you can get from burson.
injecting the steering wheel with superglue is easy, ive done it on heaps. just get a fine needle, push it in parallel so the need stabs into the gap between metal and rubber of steering wheel, pump it full, and wriggle the loose rubber around to spread the glue, presto! ![]() . . . . RE: Loose steering wheel grip
Almost any Nissan wheel from the 80s-90s will fit. R32 ones are nicer and pretty cheap.

RE: Loose steering wheel grip
I got some new clutch and brake pedal rubber covers but i'm not sure on the throttle pedal. I had a look at it and it seems to be just one whole piece, so to change it i'm guessing that you have to take it off the actual lever arm?
Whats the best action to take? |

Taark on NS.com is good for OEM stuff like that. Genuine Nissan too.

RE: Loose steering wheel grip
Yeah, bloody roady worthy pinned me for all sorts of annoying things. I've fixed up my pedals, now I just need a needle to put some glue in my steering wheel.
I'm going to try and do my tie rods and rack boots myself... if anythingthough i'll most likely just end up keeping the silvia off the road for even longer :/ |

RE: Loose steering wheel grip
I've read that you need a wheel alignment after you change tie rods. Is this tight?

RE: Loose steering wheel grip
Ahk cheers. I know i'm a bit all over the place with this thread but better than making a new one everytime I feel.
I noticed a screw/bolt hole under the gearbox, but it was open with nothing in it. I'm not sure if that is the drain hole for the gearbox oil, which I hole not as it's open. The gearbox is absolutely fine, so I guess it can't be a big deal then. |
