plastic welding??

plastic welding??
Hi guys, Does any one know of anyone that does plastic welding? There is a small crack on the front bar on my evo and i was just wondering where i could go to get it fixed?

close to me im guessing Big Grin

phil mundys did most of my panels, not sure if they do plastic welding though.
couldnt recommend them higher though, and JT panels are fantastic also.

Hi,
You can't just weld any old plastic. Some plastics are "welded" by solvents, PVC pipe and acrylic (Plexiglas) included. Some plastics are thermo set or chemical set and if heated will not melt but burn - nylon is one of these. To join them you need glues that will work with those specific plastics.

how bad is it ? i may be able to do it for you just depeneds where it is and what kinda plastic it is

i dont think its too bad. Its a small crack in my factory evo 7 front bar. On the side where the small fins are i dont think its too bad and most of the damage is under where the lip bolts on.
If this works there will be a pic under this post. If not ill keep working on it...

yeah i could fix it but ud need to spray it after. thats pretty thick and would be hard to smooth out to not notice
